Live atop Mount fucking Idiot

Mt Idiot was the first album featuring Kai on drums. As before, everything was recorded in a day. At the time, I thought this album was the shit. The album, despite being recorded by my phone (as many songs were and still are), had this great sound with the guitar and drums, even after the chorus and reverb I put on some of the tracks. I think I had the tracklist planned beforehand, and maybe some rough ideas of how the songs should sound, but little besides that.

The album, listening back, is flawed, of course, but for an album made by 2 total ameteurs, I think there are definitely merits. But there's also a lot wrong with it. I remember going in with a sore throat that limited my vocal ability, and came out with a headache too. I also couldnt drive at the time so I had to take my acoustic guitar on the bus to and from Kai's house, where the drum kit was located, using his electric guitar for the tracks that featured electric guitar

The standout is easily the "single" from the album, "I'm 6'4 and do loads of fucking drugs" which took so many takes to get, but I think still sounds kind of cool now? Somehow this was before I had listened to The White Stripes and not after, because the song is nearly a dead ringer for so many of Jack White's electric guitar outings on De Stijl and White Blood Cells.
